주제 : Enabling technology for micro-LED display based on quantum dot color converter

 

발 표 요 약 :

The micro-LED (μ-LED) display consisting of arrayed red, green, and blue (RGB) sub-pixels has been one of the hottest topics recently in academia and industry due to their excellent properties, such as long lifetime, high brightness, low power consumption and small volume. Although pick-and-place technology could enable the demonstration of μ-LED displays based on RGB μ-LEDs, several technical issues, such as complicated drive circuit, misalignment of pixels during multiple transfers, and difficult mass transfer, have delayed its commercialization. As an alternative way for demonstrating full-color display, the use of color-conversion materials with excitation sources, such as ultraviolet or blue μ-LEDs, has attracted much attention. Therefore, the selective fabrication of the thin color converter with high light conversion efficiency becomes important in μ-LED fabrication. In this talk, I will discuss enabling technology for quantum dot-based color converters, including distributed Bragg reflectors and light scatterers.
