주제 : Daytime passive radiative cooling and their
applications
발 표 요 약 :
Passive cooling requires no electricity which provides oppotunities to solve problems associated with the global energy crisis. The key behind this is releasing heat directly to the outer space. In this point of view efficient radiative cooling is realized by using efficient selective emitters (SE) that radiate heat through the atmospheric transparency window. For daytime cooling, broadband solar reflectors are also required to minimize heat generation from the solar power.
Recent advances in passive radiative cooling enable daytime cooling via tailored photonic designs [1-4]. However, there are much rooms for improving the cooling performance in practical applications. In this presentation, three recent approaches on daytime radiative cooling will be introduced : 1) Colored version of daytime radiative coolers with thin-film resonators for aesthetic purposes, 2) A Janus emitter for passive heat release from enclosures, and 3) Outdoor-useable wearable sensors with radiative cooling. Design guidelines, materials issues, and measurement methods will also be discussed.
