주제 : Competing magnetisms in Sr2RuO4

Sr2RuO4 has long been a system of interest due to its unconventional superconducting properties. While paramagnetic metal in its normal state, the system harbors interesting landscape of competing magnetic instabilities that are intricately linked to its superconducting pairing symmetries. In this talk, starting with a brief overview of the system, I will discuss the various magnetic features we have investigated in the Sr2RuO4 and with the intimate connection to the experimental findings. Specifically, we attempt to explain the onset of a static magnetic order beyond a critical strain by combining the first-principles density functional theory and Moriya’s self-consistent renormalization theory. Furthermore, we introduce our efforts to mimic the key properties of Sr2RuO4 using engineered heterostructures.
