주제 : Emergence and Complexity

발 표 요 약 :

Democritus once said that everything existing in the Universe is the fruit of “Chance and Necessity”. Chance gives rise to miraculous initial conditions, such as the birth of a child and a galaxy, etc., leaving room for metaphysics and religion. In contrast, Necessity entails the causal development of reality in the world that obeys physical laws and emergent principles.

In this talk, I will present an overview of my research over the years, aiming to enhance our understanding of emergent complexity, which is an ultimate research interest in physics concerning the Democritus thesis. Within the time allowed, I plan to tell the story of entropy, life, consciousness, and AI in simple terms with minimal technicality.
