주제 : Introduction of trapped ion-based Quantum Computer

In recent years, understanding, controlling, and utilizing quantum systems have become major research interests across physics, chemistry, and materials science. Among various physical platforms, trapped-ion systems have emerged as a particularly successful approach for precise control of quantum states, enabling high-fidelity single-qubit operations and two-qubit entangling gates for quantum computation and simulation.
In this talk, I will introduce the basic principles of trapped-ion systems and discuss how this platform can be developed toward a practical quantum information processor. I will focus on the challenges of scaling up trapped-ion systems from both hardware and software perspectives, including increasing the number of qubits and improving gate performance through phase modulation techniques.
